San Antonio Trip

Since we did not have electricity last weekend and we were tired of staying with people we decided to get away as a family and head to San Antonio. We had an awesome time at the riverwalk and Sea World. San Antonio is always a favorite of ours to visit. Here are a few pictures from our trip. If you notice in this first picture Addie has a black eye. She hit a window sill and has had this black eye for over 2 weeks. I would love to have her 1 year pictures taken but I really do not want her to have a black eye in them. She looks so tough :)
Today Addie said to words - this is really big for her since she really doesnt say much - she says "hi" and "dada" but today she said "thank you" and "Addie". She usually just says "UGH" and points to whatever she wants.
River Boat Ride

Shamu got us wet and the kids were not happy. We had to get up and go to the top.

We went to see the 4-d Pirate show. Logan loves pirates but this was a little too scary for him. A bee came right at us (or so it seemed) and Logan freaked out screaming "I want to go back to the hotel".
Here he is with his pirate sword.
8 1/2 hours at sea world is a little exhausting
Logan loved feeding the dolphins!

Logans first roller coaster ride and he had a blast. I just knew when he got up to the front he would chicken out but he fooled me!

Logan refused to be a part of the picture!

Ike Pictures

Okay finally some pictures. Still no electricity. We went to San Antonio for the weekend because we were tired of staying with people. We had our fingers crossed that our electricity would be back on when we got home today but no luck. We are back at my parents because they now have electricity. Here are some pictures before and after the hurricane.

Here is Addie the day before the hurricane at my parents. I love her hair in this picture. Since we haven't gotten to have her party yet we let her sport her birthday hat. She absolutely loves wearing it. Looks like it might be October before she gets her first birthday party since we have no electricity and it isn't looking good for us. We did have a mini party while we were staying with my grandparents last week. I will post pictures of that and our San Antonio trip later.

Addie asleep in her hurricane bed. We all slept in my moms closet.

Logan and I in our bed.
The damage
After the hurricane we drove around to look at all the damage and since everyone was up at 4 Logan was a tired little boy.

Hurricane Ike

Okay well we survived...Chase sent Ryan to Arlington to work from there since they knew that the office downtown was going to be on standy for a while. I had planned to stay at the house with the kids alone but no one would allow that. We had a place under the stairs and everything. So we headed to Lake Conroe to stay at my parents. They have lots of pine trees..... We were all 5 in her closet for the night and actually slept great til about 5. The winds were pretty scary. Long story short - 2 trees down on house. 1 in front and 1 on side in the upstairs guestroom. What a mess. The whole house shook when they fell. Thank goodness for the upstairs. I feel so bad for my parents. They are going to have a long few months ahead. We have been busy pulling carpet out of their house and they have been told by tree cutters that they will need a crane to pull the trees off their house and these are not easy to come by right now. Their whole 2nd story is going to basically have to be rebuilt because there is water in the walls in just about every room. A friend of theirs gave them these machines to take out the moisture in the room thankfully to keep the mold out. Hopefully it wont take 6 to 7 months to get their house back to normal like everyone says.
Kids were not scared one bit. Logan even went outside in and thought it was great. Our house is fine. 1 small tree got bent in the front.
Obviously no electricity and not sure when it will come on. We have heard anywheres from 1 day to 4 weeks. Hopefully not 4 weeks. My parents have a generator and window unit so we had been living at their house. My grandmother got power in Lovelady though so we decided to go to college station for the day (just to get out and get gas since there is none to be found). We had fun shopping and nice lunch out. We will hopefully be going home to electricity soon. I can't say it has been bad though becuase we have been able to laundry, have coffee, cook, watch tv and pretty much whatever else you can do with a generator. Okay just wanted to give all of you who don't live around here an update of what is going on. We are also having a pretty difficult time getting out on our phones but are getting text messages pretty good though. Thanks for all the prayers during the storm and we are just glad to be safe!!!!! Oh and Ryan is home now but we are not there :( We miss our daddy and husband!!! Pictures will come whenever we have power back.

Bows

Okay have to show off the bows I have been making. I am pretty impressed with myself!!! I made a halloween tutu for a friend. This is not the best picture of it but i just took a quick one.

We had Ryan's 10 year High School Reunion this weekend. Yes he is that old :) I had fun meeting all his friends from High School and he enjoyed seeing some friends he hadn't seen in a while. I am such a horrible wife and didn't take any pictures :( Sunday we had fun with the youth. The kids always have a good time with them! I love these girls!!!!!
We watched our friends little boy Ashton this week and him and Addie had so a good time together. Here they are having walker races.

Walking

Addie is taking steps. She is doing really good and is so proud of herself!!!!

Happy Birthday Addie!

Since we won't be able to have Addie's party for a few weeks (too many other parties going on) some of our friends wanted to celebrate with us on her birthday. I couldn't really think of a whole lot that a 1 year old could do so we just decided on Chucke E. Cheese since the older kids of course love the place. Addie enjoyed the pizza as usual (and I am pretty sure "pizza" was her first word). I don't know if I should admit that or not but it is the only thing I have ever heard her say besides "dadadadada" and "mamamamama". She ate 1 1/2 slices of pizza and we also got her a cake to eat. I don't know if anyone has ever had the cakes at Chucke E. Cheese or not but they are so yummy. I actually had made a cake but it did not turn out so well so instead we got to get a yummy Chucke E. Cheese cake!!! Again, Addie loves sweets as you will see from the pictures!!!
Haley was posing for the snapshot at chucke e. cheese and i thought this was cute
Lizzie just looks so pathetic :(

We could not keep the kids fingers out of the cake. Addie included.
Happy 1st Birthday baby girl!

Thanks girls for helping us celebrate. I know Addie had a great time!!!!!
