Fun in Houston

Friday Ryan and my Mom took off work so we could all spend the day together with Chad and Katie. We went to Taste of Texas (one of our favorite steak places - well i am not a big steak eater but they have great pecan crusted chicken stuffed with goat cheese) for lunch and to celebrate Katie and my birthday. They have the best salad bar ever and my kids enjoyed it as well. Addie ate herself about 5 pieces of watermelon. She did not get this from me because (i know I'm crazy) but I can't stand it. We also had some pretty yummy deserts. When it is your birthday or anniversary they let you choose a desert and I think I have pretty much tried them all and have a very difficult time choosing.

After lunch we headed over to the Musuem of Natural Science. Logan had a blast. We just went to the science musuem part but Chad and Katie went to Body World II (or something like that) I could not handle it - real bodies that have been preserved in different ways - This is gross to me. Katie loved it because she is in school to be a nurse - right up her alley but not mine and I am sure the kids would not have enjoyed it either. Logan loved the dinosaurs and all the little energy activities they had. Addie enjoyed herself as well just running around. I would have liked to take them to the Fly Me to the Moon 3-D Imax but since Sea World and the pirate show he is not real big on going to movies. I tried to take him to see Igor the other day and he was crying before the show even started. We had to get up and leave - then Addie started crying because she wanted to stay. I am sure we will try again when Madagascar 2 comes out in Theatres.

Logan thinks that any skeleton head is a pirate (i can see why he thinks this) so when we were looking around at the museum my mom said "look at the turtle Logan" and he just kept walking and said no thats a pirate (i am sure he thought this because of the little turtles skeleton head).

Uncle Chad and Aunt Katie Are Here

Chad and Katie flew in from Alabama on Wednesday to celebrate Katie's, Mine and Addies Birthdays. Mine and Katies aren't until the end of October but since she is on fall break we decided to celebrate early. Since Ike got in the way of Addies birthday party we rescheduled it for this past weekend so that Chad and Katie would be here. The kids enjoyed hanging out with their Uncle Chad and Aunt Katie. I think Logan was pretty sad to see them go. I will post all the fun things we got to do with them. These pics are from the night they got in and we headed on over to Pappasitos - a family favorite!

Growing Up

I took the kids to the park yesterday to play with some friends. I go this sweet picture of the two of them taking a snack break. They are growing up so fast.

Haircuts

Both the kids needed haircuts in a really bad way. I took them to snipits and this was Addies first haircut. She did not like it one bit. She does not like for me to put her down around anyone she does not know (which would happen to be the lady cutting her hair). So I ended up having to hold her the whole time. She did not get a lot cut off but just got it all even. Logan had lots of hair to cut off. His new hair cut looks awesome and he loves it too.

The Weekend

Friday night we took the kids to market street to run around. Addison is walking everywhere these days. I need to get a new video of her up on here. Logan likes to hold her hand and walk with her but it doesn't always work out because he does not understand that she walks a little slower than he does.

Saturday was Logan's first soccer game. It was hilarious. All they do is run around in every which direction. Logan would grab the ball with his hands lay it on the ground in front of the goal and kick it in and think he had scored. We keep trying to stress to him that you can not use your hands in soccer. Maybe we should put him in football next time because he would be great at getting the ball and taking off with it.

Addie cheered her big brother on. She really wishes she could get out there and play.

Proud of our Logan!

Soccer

Here are pictures from Logans first Soccer Practice from last week. Sorry I am playing catch up today.

Mema's House

After the storm we went to stay with my Mema in Lovelady since they were one of the first to get electricity back out of all of our family. Logan had a great time playing outside. My Aunt Kristi and cousin Nathan came up also since they didn't have power either. Thanks Nathan for entertaining Logan for a few days. I know he really enjoyed hanging out with you.

Addie is quite the little drama queen. She can throw some seirous fits. She will kick her legs and throw her arms and put her head face down on the floor and just cry. Everything is so dramatic. I guess I will have to get used to this since she is a girl. As you can see from the pictures here is one of her little tantrums. Oh and the high chair that Addie is in was my mothers (and all her sisters and brothers). It is pretty old :). I can't believe my grandmother kept it all these years but I am glad she did because it sure came in handy.
Since Addie's party got postponed Mema decided to make cupcakes for her and we sang happy birthday to her. She loves SUGAR so I am sure she is thrilled that she is gettting to eat cake so many times! Oh...and no she did not grab the candle even though it may look that way!
My grandma happened to have a number 3 candle and we let Logan join in the fun and blow out a candle of his own.

My grandma also went ahead and gave her one of her birthday presnts. Here is Addie unwrapping it (and it also took a little help from Logan as well)
Are these not the cutest bookends ever. They are from Bellas. If you are ever in Crockett you need to stop by Bellas because she has some great gifts and such a cute store.
